Why Did I Create A Blog, If We Already Have A Website?

Look at what David is doing in China !!!
I just built the website - Family Matters - and now I created a blog - WHY? Honestly, David was a big inspiration for this. He's going to the other side of the world - a foreign country, a foreign language, new social customs, new foods, etc. Marty is used to it by now, but for him, this has to be exciting, but it's probably more on the scary side. So, I hope we all use this blog to communicate.

Think about everyone in the family... David - off to China. Andrew - out in Colorado, but may be moving to another state (according to the last conversation I had with Marty). Jenny will be off to college. Natalie is in Las Vegas. Julie doesn't live at home. Ellen just finished school and will be looking for work. She may stay in Pittsburgh or may move back to Euclid.

My point is, we are all growing older and are spreading around. And it would be great to see come content from other family members.

The website is really a tool to be used between Marty, Mary Lou and myself. However, this blog can be for everyone. And... you can submit content via email and never have to log in to it.

Some of us are on Facebook, which is cool. But it's easy to get lost in the shuffle there; and you have to figure the thing out. This is pretty simple.

You use the SUBJECT LINE as the post title. Then add whatever you want. I'll clean it up on my end and add the tags in the beginning.

Drop pictures into an email and send it. It will post right away.

I'm having some issues with the permissions and part of it might be that the blog is too new. So, give it a week or so to get going and we'll have something we can use any time we want.

Family matters. It does.

Happy New Year To Everyone In The Family

Have Happy Feet All Of 2012 !!!
Happy New Year to everyone in the family. 2011 was a year of mixed emotions for me. It was horrible at the beginning of the year, then I got into my blogging in March. But in June my little white iBook died and life was looking bleak. Now, I have opportunities a-plenty. I'm just grateful that I have something to look forward to from the very first day of the year.

I also have to thank everyone who was so generous in 2011 and continued to help me through this crisis. It will end. The sooner the better.

My #1 goal this year is to afford to see Natalie. Even if I can't afford to move back to Las Vegas, I want to make enough to comfortably afford a trip out there for a week.

I will do everything possible to make it happen.

I also hope that all of you have big plans for the year ahead. Always dream big - bigger than seems realistic. Shoot really high. Even if you fall short, you way better off than if you shot low.

Happy New Year!!!!

With much love and gratitude for all you have done.

Roger

Welcome To The Family Matters Blog

Hey, my philosophy is, if you have a website, you might as well have a blog. So, here it is. Haven't figured out how to use this yet, but I will. There are things that can be done here that you can't do on a website - and vice versa.

Stay tuned.

Love,

Roger
